It is hard to imbue a sense of "history in the making" in a 4 year old, but sometimes you just have to try. On election day, at the point where Obama hit the 170 votes, we left the house and headed for the "Backbone Campaign" party in the old K2 building. It was only a 15 minute journey, but as soon as we arrived, there was an explosion of noise that made the whole building shake. I figured it wasn't for us, so it had to be for Obama, who had just passed the 270 votes needed. Boy, was that fast or what! I've never seen so many people so happy and , dare I say it, so relieved. Tears of joy streamed down faces, hugs and kisses freely given and received all said the same thing.
So this morning, Alex decided to wait until later to watch his cartoons, allowing daddy to watch the swearing in of our new president. I know where I was.
Ok, that's enough. Back to Bob the Builder, who by the way, would be an excellent role model for the new president. Can we fix it? Yes we can!
