Database dilemma

I know we are all on a database somewhere, but this was brought to my attention this week while trying to purchase something off the web. When I went to fill in the personal details, I started to type in my name and address and it filled it all in for me. Wow! They know me. This wasn't a company I had used before, so I was a little bit taken aback.

The following day, I had a Jury Summons. Well, it comes to us all eventually.
I would have loved the chance to find the bastard guilty  exercise my right to participate in the justice system in  my adopted homeland, however, as I am a registered legal alien (and frequently reminded of the fact whenever I come into contact with officialdom), I have no rights.

I'd just lock the bugger up right now as he/she/it is not going to get a fair trial without my Solomon like wisdom.

Well, this would have been fine, except that I have returned two of these already, each one excusing myself from my obligations on account of me NOT being a citizen. Let me just state that again in case the INS is listening in. I AM NOT A CITIZEN.

So here is my question. Why then can't the Justice System get the same software that the company of my recent transaction has purchased. It seems to know me pretty well. I'm probably on their birthday card list by now.
It worries me that  government agencies don't have access to, or are incapable of bringing the data for me, Mr Alien from Vashon, together in one place. People that are tasked with stopping another 9/11 should really be better equipped than Target or Wal-mart.

Just sayin'.

  1. Can we go with the notion that their deep belief that there should be No Taxation without Representation, prevents them from excluding anyone who has filed a return with the IRS?

  2. Good point well made Mister Legend. it's amazing how resourceful retailers are compared to government agencies. As an alien do you have a big green head? does it give you a free pass to conduct weird experiments on lonely farmers?..and thank you for the link you left, it does not work though but will try a bit of cut and paste..xx

  5. You're right! All it takes is a post/zip code given to a nobody at some point to be hounded. The INS (and the UK equivalent) are arses. Simple as that!

  6. I'm betting that if you have to go to an official site to fill in more details, your info will NOW come up. It's SCARY how much stuff is out there floating about, about us!

    1. They certainly do when coming back into the country. I get stopped and interviewed every time.

  8. Suggest sending this post to our King County Executive, Dow Constantine. http://info.kingcounty.gov/about/contact/default.aspx I know King County elections--who supplies the court with potential jurors--has really worked on improving their operations, but sounds like another "process improvement" opportunity is needed. Dow's office is very responsive, and I think they just might enjoy your tongue and cheek humor (humour) as well! --KDD (a Naturalized citizen who has NEVER been summoned for jury duty. Go figure!)
